AspirePro exposes your organization to external AI assistants and automation through an MCP server (Model Context Protocol). This lets tools like AI assistants and agents work with your AspirePro data — the same modules, the same actions — from outside the app, under access you control.
What the MCP server does#
The MCP server presents your organization's capabilities as tools an external client can call — reading and acting on companies, contacts, tickets, projects, and more. Crucially, these are the same abilities the app itself uses, so as your enabled modules grow, so does what's available over MCP. Everything runs as the person who connected, with their permissions in this organization, so external access is bounded exactly like a user's.
Who can connect#
MCP access is a permission — MCP API Access, in the API group of a role. A person whose role holds it can connect an AI client and act through it; a person whose role does not is told so, by name, when they try. Grant it through System → Roles, and withdraw it the same way: the change takes effect on the client's very next call, not when its token expires.
Connecting a client#
Everyone connects the same way, from Account settings → Integrations (the AI clients (MCP) card) or System → MCP Connector:
- Copy the connector URL —
https://mcp.aspirepro.io/mcp, the same for every organization. - Add it to the AI client (Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector; ChatGPT: Settings → Apps & Connectors → Create, developer mode).
- Sign in when prompted: enter your email, sign in to one of your organizations, and choose which organizations the client may use.

Older connections#
Before September 24, 2026, connectors could also be added at an organization's own address (https://your-organization.aspirepro.io/mcp or /v2/mcp), sometimes with a pasted ap2_… token. Those addresses and tokens have been retired and no longer work. Anyone still using one sees a message naming the new address: they remove the old connector and add https://mcp.aspirepro.io/mcp, then sign in. Nothing secret is ever copied into a client any more.
Security notes#
- Clients act as the person who connected, with that person's permissions in each organization — never more.
- Withdrawing MCP API Access is immediate for that organization: the client's very next call there is refused. A person can also disconnect from their AI client's own settings.
- MCP access is auditable like the rest of the organization — see Audit log.
MCP is what lets you bring your own AI tools to AspirePro. If you only use the built-in Prox assistant, you don't need to touch this area — Prox works out of the box. MCP is for connecting external clients.
