Team Builder takes the guesswork out of staffing. For a project's open roles (its unfilled placeholders), it ranks the best-fit people on your team and lets you assign them in one step.
How it ranks candidates#
For each open role, Team Builder suggests your top candidates, scored across four criteria you can weight with sliders:
- Skills — how well the person's skills cover what the role requires.
- Role — whether their work role matches.
- Availability — how much headroom they have in the booking window.
- Cost — cheaper candidates score higher (weighted off by default).
You can also set must-match constraints — require the right role, the required skills, or that the booking fits without overloading the person — to filter out unsuitable candidates entirely.
Each candidate shows how many required skills they cover, their average availability, their tightest week, whether the booking fits, and (where you're permitted) their bill rate and cost impact.
Filling roles#
Pick the people you want and Team Builder fills the placeholders in a single action — assigning them as soft or hard bookings. It skips roles that are already filled, so you can run it repeatedly as a plan comes together.
Where skills come from#
Team Builder's skill matching draws on the skills each person has (with a proficiency level), defined under System → Resource Capacity. Keeping people's skills current is what makes the recommendations genuinely useful — see Capacity & rates.
Team Builder is a recommendation engine, not an autopilot — it ranks and proposes, you decide. Use the sliders to reflect what matters most for a given project (skills-heavy work vs. cost-sensitive work) and let it surface the shortlist.
